About Us |
|
|
Little Language is an on-going program tailored to
the particular needs of the children enrolled. Each child is placed in a
class based on many factors including age, language skills, and social
development. Little Language is committed to giving individual attention
to each child; therefore our classes are kept small to facilitate the
full participation of every student. Each one hour language class is
conducted exclusively in Italian in a structured, stimulating and
playful environment so children can be nurtured, praised, encouraged and
feel self confident. We emphasize the importance of multi-sensory
foreign language learning through verbal-visual-tactile association. An
interactive approach is achieved through singing songs, telling
traditional stories, colorful pictures, puppets, toys and instruments.
By engaging each student through “educational play”, your child will
understand and learn the Italian language naturally and effortlessly. |

Prior to teaching, Alberta worked in Italian
commercial banking for Banca Nazionale dell’ Agricoltura (BNA) as an
administrative assistant and Banca Commerciale Italiana (BCI) utilizing
her bi-lingual abilities in the Credit Department. Research has
proven and she firmly believes, that there is an educational
advantage gained through early exposure to a foreign language.
Studies show that a secondary linguistic experience accelerates
brain activity and enhances children’s overall cognitive
development. It has been proven that children possess their greatest
capacity to absorb and retain language from birth to age eight.
Alberta also believes that learning foreign languages can only be
beneficial and creates a more well rounded and cultured individual. As a resident of Dyker Heights Brooklyn, Alberta
realized that there was a need for a unique bi-lingual program. Through
years of experience teaching, she has devised an effective program that
immerses children in the Italian language in an interactive, enjoyable,
nurturing and playful environment. |
